Gabriel has finished in third place in the voting for our 2025/26 men’s Player of the Season award.

The Brazilian defender was colossal in our backline throughout the season, playing in 51 of our 63 games, including 32 of the 38 matches that secured us the Premier League trophy.

And that effort saw him claim 11% of the vote to finish in the bronze-medal position.

He contributed to 17 clean sheets in the league, as well as another 11 during our runs to the Champions League and Carabao Cup finals. At the other end of the field, he made another massive difference by netting four times, including a vital stoppage-time winner against Newcastle United in September. He also provided five assists as his presence loomed large over every set-piece.

Big Gabi’s efforts have seen him nominated for the Premier League and PFA’s Player of the Season award, and earned him a spot in Brazil’s World Cup squad, making his competition debut in the heart of their defence against Morocco last week.

Having signed a new deal with the club last summer, Gabriel hit 250 games for the club in our Champions League quarter-final win at Sporting Lisbon in April, and also won our Player of the Month award for the sixth time back in October.
