In our latest episode of Arsenal Explained, we’re taking a look back at our final game at Highbury!<\/strong><\/p>\n

On May 7, 2006, we said goodbye to our famous home, and there was plenty on the line as Wigan Athletic visited Highbury for a truly historic occasion.<\/p>\n

With a spot in next season’s Champions League on the line, we needed to better Tottenham’s result at West Ham United to move above our north London rivals and secure fourth spot.<\/p>\n

The game swung one way, then the other, eventually resulting in a 4-2 victory, courtesy of a stunning Thierry Henry hat-trick as we pipped our rivals to UCL qualification.<\/p>\n
